Gansey has continually climbed the Cavs basketball operations ladder in the past decade. First, he worked under Cavs former GM Chris Grant, then David Griffin and on to Koby Altman.

In 2017, Gansey was honored as the G League Executive of the Year as the general manager of the Cavs’ NBAGL affiliate.

According to reports by Woj, Gansey has played a part in several of Cleveland’s most notable draft choices and roster moves. Including drafting Evan Mobley and Darius Garland and the trade that brought Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert to Cleveland.
