Frazier’s Arrival Fuels Captains

The arrival of Indians 2013 #1 pick Clint Frazier was a big shift in momentum for the Captains. Lake County had eight straight losses prior to his arrival. Frazier was in the lineup and ready to play.

Lake County looked to end their eight-game skid on Thursday night when Adam Plutko took the mound against Burlington, an affiliate of the Angels. He went 4 innings while only giving up 1 hit. Eric Haase hit his third home run of the year. Frazier went 1-5 with an RBI in his debut. The Captains won 6-3.

On Friday, the Captains sent out RHP Mitch Brown. Brown went 4.1 innings while giving up 4 hearned runs on 4 hits. Frazier went 1-4 with a double and drove in his 2nd run of the year. 2B Paul Hendrix scored a run and went 2-3. Lake County fell to 5-10 after a 5-2 loss.

The series finale was yet again one to forget for Lake County. Dorssys Paulino’s eighth error of the year gave Burlington three runs. Captains starter Luis Lugo gave up three runs in 4.2 innings pitched. Frazier continued his hit streak, going 2-4 and an RBI. That moves his batting average to .308. The only Captains run was scored by Josh McAdams. Lake County lost that one 6-1 and fell to 5-11 on the year.
