Familiar with Hue
Familiarity is an underrated aspect that can go a long way in the NFL. Jackson was McCarron’s offensive coordinator for the first two years he was in the NFL and more importantly in 2015; the only time A.J. saw extended action in a season. The Alabama product looked efficient in Hue’s offense. Basically in four games (three starts), he threw for 832 yards, six touchdowns, two interceptions and finished with a 2-1 record. McCarron was solid when he replaced Andy Dalton and looked comfortable doing it too.
