Who Will be the QB Backup to the Backup?

There’s been a lot of chatter about Deshaun Watson and the possibility that he gets suspended for part of this season. The team has brought in all new backup quarterbacks as well. Jacoby Brissett is likely the backup and would start Week 1 if Watson is suspended. But then who could be the backup after Brissett? The Browns brought in Joshua Dobbs, formally a backup with the Pittsburgh Steelers and just this week they brought in the former first-round pick of the 2018 Arizona Cardinals Josh Rosen. He was a bust then. Will he be a bust now?

Why did the team bring him in now? He has started three games since 2018 and has traveled around a lot with different teams since then.

Maybe Rosen has a resurgence of his career, but this move seems odd at this point unless Cleveland believes Dobbs is bust as well. Either way, it’ll be interesting to see who gets cut in the end.
