FIVE Battles To Watch As Cleveland Browns Begin Training Camp

Cleveland Browns running back Demetric Felton works on passing drills during voluntary OTA, June 2, 2021, in Berea.

The Cleveland Browns begin their 2022 season journey as training camp starts this week. There are plenty of storylines to follow as most Browns fans are well aware of as the daily news of quarterback Deshaun Watson seems to never end.
Regardless of the Watson verdict and possible suspension, this team is loaded with talent again this season and should challenge for a run at the Super Bowl.
While the headlines revolve around Watson and an impending suspension there are several other storylines to keep an eye on. Let’s discuss this now.
The running back competition
The Browns have six running backs coming to training camp. That includes Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt and D’Ernest Johnson.
The team also drafted a running back in Jerome Ford from the University of Cincinnati. So, Ford likely has a spot saved. Last season the Browns started the season with four running backs and one fullback. The team doesn’t have a fullback coming to camp.
That leaves Demetric Felton and John Kelly Jr. potentially battling it out to make the final 53-man roster
They could both make the roster and the team uses Felton more with the wide receivers. The other possibility is that one of these guys is going to get traded to another team before Week 1. So, stay tuned!
