Today, we are going to look at the versatile Lorenzo Carter (6’6″ 250 lbs). He was a member of the great defense of the Georgia Bulldogs that made it to the 2018 National Championship but unfortunately, they lost to Alabama. It was a heck of a ride and I’m sure Carter doesn’t regret returning for his senior year.

It was his most productive season as a collegiate athlete. Carter recorded 62 tackles, 8.5 for a loss, 4.5 sacks while forcing and recovering three fumbles. He was effective as a linebacker and defensive end with his length and speed. His lateral quickness helps him set the edge and uses his long arms to disengage blocks.

Carter may have to add some muscle at the next level, but he has the tools to an outside linebacker or an edge rusher. Heck, it can be both depending on what his team asks him to do, but regardless he is a disruptive force. He can shed blocks to get to the runner/quarterback or he can use his 36″ vertical to get his hands up to bat down passes. Lorenzo Carter had a great Combine and Pro Day, so I believe he solidified his draft stock. There is an abundance of defensive players in this draft, so Carter will probably be taken off the boards in the second or third round as his projection suggests.
