Expert Opinion: DJ Moore’s Profile
DJ Moore is a 6′, 210-pound wide receiver out of Maryland.
At the Combine, he ran a 4.42 40-yard dash, 15 bench presses, 39.5 verticle jump and 132″ broad jump.
One thing that’s well-documented about Moore is that he is liked by the coaching staff and his teammates. This is big because in the NFL there are so many huge personalities like Dez Bryant and Odell Beckham Jr. that I believe are a detriment to their respective teams because of their egos.
It appears that Moore will be a slot receiver in the NFL, as he doesn’t have the size or strength to work from the outside. But that’s okay as many receivers make a living from the slot. It’s a very important position.
A big knock on Moore is his route-running ability. It’s everything from the initial push off the line to creating separation against defensive backs. In the NFL, he’ll be facing the best of the best and it will be even more difficult for him to get open.
I expect Moore to go towards the end of the first round or the beginning of the second round. Since the Browns just traded for slot receiver, Jarvis Landry, it’s hard for me to see the team use a pick on Moore. However, he will be helpful for a team looking to bulk-up their wide receiving core.
