Projected Cap Space: $22 million
Current QB’s on Roster: None
Why Cousins Makes Sense: The Cardinals have the lowest cap space available among all the teams mentioned in this list. They also have no quarterback currently under contract. While the cap situation might be tight this season, it opens wide up next season. The Cardinals could offer Cousins a backloaded deal in the hopes to get him to sign. David Johnson will be back and Larry Fitzgerald is lacing them up for at least one more season. That’s a pretty good tandem to deal with.
Why Cousins Doesn’t Make Sense: This could very well be Larry Fitzgerald’s last year in Arizona. And while the cap space will open up next offseason, they will need to re-sign David Johnson. Bruce Arians, the world-renowned QB whisperer is gone and the NFC West might be the toughest division in the NFL.
