Rookie defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah was Cleveland’s second pick in this year’s NFL Draft. He comes to us courtesy of Oklahoma State where he earned high marks for his play and work ethic. In his final year as a Cowboy, Ogbah logged 13 sacks and did some skillful pass rushing. He received the honor of being named Big 12 co-defensive player of the year.
Ogbah put on a stellar performance at this year’s NFL combine. The 275-pound Ogbah claimed a top finish in the 40-yard dash finishing in just 4.63 seconds. These stats are not too shabby for a big guy. He also finished first in the vertical jump, reaching a height of 35.5 inches. The broad jump was the third combine event where Ogbah finished first. He jumped for an impressive 121 inches.
All the combine statistics can’t measure a player’s will or drive to succeed. Cleveland’s new number ninety was reviewed well by sources close to CST. Look for Ogbah to be a disruptive edge rusher. His 6’4 frame should make an impression on opposing offensive linemen. He will also use his speed to his advantage as he rushes QBs and collapses the pocket. Welcome to the Dawg Pound, Emmanuel, we are looking forward to watching you take a bite out of our opponents this season.
