Elhadji Ndiaye
With the signing of two veteran wide receivers, undrafted free agent, Elhadji Ndiaye went under the radar. The signing of this deal didn’t reach headlines, but it should have. The Cleveland Browns added another quality piece to our defensive line.
The Senegal native, Ndiaye, is a defensive end who possesses the ability to play standing up at outside linebacker. The 6’4” 265 pounder grew up playing soccer equipping him with excellent footwork. Ndiaye’s junior year of college at Nebraska-Kearney was his first playing football.
Despite only two seasons of experience, Elhadji Ndiaye displays multiple abilities to help pursue an NFL career. The defensive end is extremely responsive, moving at the sound of the snap. Also, he exhibits amazing speed in pursuit of the ball carrier as well as using his hands to break numerous blocks. Endurance is not an issue as Ndiaye played with no back up for a team whose struggling offense couldn’t get off the field.
With this in mind, Ndiaye is a work horse. In the offseason, he worked with the track team as well as accomplishing other tasks like boxing, swimming, and even yoga. The goal was to shape his body and perfect his skills to become an elite pass rusher.
Regardless of only two years of football under his belt, in 2013, Ndiaye racked up 46 tackles, 9.5 of those for a loss, two forced fumbles, and a team high six sacks.
If Elhadji Ndiaye comes to Cleveland and makes the team, there should be no question of capability. This appears to be a great addition to our football organization.
