The MLB non-waiver trade deadline is at 4 p.m. today and rumor mill is chattering per usual. Where there is smoke there is usually fire as most deals are struck within the last 24 hours. This deadline is no different as playoff contenders have a lot of needs and will be looking to upgrade their roster for the stretch run. The Indians being one of those teams with a glaring weakness in the outfield thanks in part to the injury bug. Recently we have seen an uptick in production from the likes of Brandon Guyer, Rajai Davis and the recently called up Melky Cabrera. Guyer is best used in a platoon role against lefties and Cabrera may be able to hold down the RF corner; CF, where Davis mostly plays, is best used as a fourth outfielder and pinch runner off the bench. Second Base could another potential area the Indians address, although we have seen an uptick recently in Jason Kipnis’ production.
