CST's Most Beloved Athlete In Cleveland Sports History Tournament!

We here at Cleveland Sports Talk are ECSTATIC to announce our Most Beloved Athlete In Cleveland Sports History Tournament!

THE BRACKET IS SET!

Our CST staff has created a 64-team bracket, March Madness style! Each “team” is an athlete that was at one point or another, beloved by the city of Cleveland and all of its fans! We carefully seeded each athlete depending on how beloved we believed that athlete was during their time in Cleveland. Based on this seeding, the higher seeds will play the lower seeds (1 v 16, 2 v 15, 3 v 14, etc.).

RULES AND HOW THE TOURNAMENT WILL RUN!

The tournament will be ran on our Cleveland Sports Talk Twitter! @CLEsportsTalk

The tournament will begin at 6:30 p.m. on January 19.

At 6:30 on January 19, we will post two “games,” or two polls with two different match-ups!

THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOU, THE FAN!

You will have 24 hours to vote on each match-up!

Twitter only allows you to vote once per poll, so the max you can vote per matchup is one time.

Each vote counts as “one point”.

Whoever “scores” the most “points” will move on to the next round. (Example: LeBron James v. Kyrie Irving. LeBron gets 1,500 votes in the 24-hour poll, Kyrie gets 1,000 votes in the 24-hour poll. LeBron wins by a final score of 1,500-1,000. LeBron advances to the next round).

We will post two new matchups every day at 6:30 for the first two rounds.

When we get to the sweet sixteen, we will begin to post ONE poll per day at the same time (6:30 p.m., instead of the usual two.

The polling will continue until we finally have our answer on who the most beloved athlete in Cleveland sports history is!

After each round, we will post a recap of the matchups and how each game went down!

REMEMBER, this is not the BEST ATHLETE, this is MOST BELOVED! So don’t base your vote on how amazing of a player they were, but rather on how much love the City of Cleveland had for him!
