CST Mock Draft: Browns Picks 1 & 4
The Cleveland Browns have been awful since their return to the league and they had more misses than hits in the draft. After coming off arguably the worst season in NFL history, new GM John Dorsey has his work cut out for him. The one thing that former GM Sashi Brown did do was acquire a lot of draft picks. The Browns have two top-five picks and have a slew of them that in the later rounds. So the writers of CST put their two-cents in on whom they believed the Browns will take at the number one and number four pick(s) in the draft.
Rod Bluhm:
- Sam Darnold, QB USC
“Darnold is the safest QB in this draft. The Browns need to opt for a QB at one to end the cycle.”
- Bradley Chubb, DE NC State
“Chubb would get them the QB pressure when paired with Garrett.”
Alex Kaufman:
- Josh Rosen, QB UCLA
“Rosen because he is the best pure passer and he can consistently win games.”
- Saquon Barkley, RB Penn State
“Barkley is the best offensive talent in the draft.”
Chad Painter
- Baker Mayfield, QB Oklahoma
“Scot McCloughan is the main draft consultant for Dorsey. He said Baker was his top QB months ago when he wasn’t yet in the Browns front office.”
- Bradley Chubb, DE NC State
“Line him up opposite Garrett and we have an elite pass rush.”
Blake Elkins:
- Baker Mayfield, QB Oklahoma
“Baker is the kind of spark that the Browns need. He is the most accurate QB in this draft class and has drawn a lot of comparisons to Drew Brees.”
- Bradley Chubb, DE NC State
“The thought of Chubb on one side and Garrett on the other has Browns fans barking. Don’t forget Ogbah is also in the rotation.”
