who is gona be the cavs next coach?
— BigChubbisGr8 (@BigChubbFan) April 12, 2019
I am sure the Cavs will do a large search for the next head coach. Two names that I would be interested in are Mark Price and Avery Johnson. Both have coaching experience and have worked with young players, like most of the Cavs roster currently is. Also, they would bring something to Cleveland that other candidates would not. Mark Price brings a personal history with the Cavs as he played here for the first nine seasons of his career. I have always been a huge Price fan and having him as our coach would be amazing. Avery Johnson, on the other hand, brings a familiarity with G Collin Sexton, who he coached at Alabama. Will those factors be enough to get the job? Probably not, but it should at least get them an interview.
What do you think about the possibility of the Browns starting the season against the Jets on Monday night?
— Karen Ickovitz (@MorahKayla) April 14, 2019
I think it would be great and I’m not only saying that because I live in New York and would love to go to a Browns-Jets Monday Night game. It is a good match-up for the league as Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold will be starting their second seasons and both are expected to take big steps forward. Also, in the NFL’s 100th season there are going to be a lot of opportunities for “Historic Match-up Moments” and Browns-Jets was the first Monday Night Football game ever.
What’s your “dream picks” for rounds 2, 3 and 4 for the Browns?
— MarcoPolo (@MarcoPo52221070) April 12, 2019
I’m going to assume you mean my “realistic dream picks” otherwise I would say Round 2, DE Nick Bosa; Round 3, LB Devin White and Round 4, DT Ed Oliver. While those picks will not be happening, my feeling is if we end up with LB Mack Wilson, S Amani Hooker and OL Oli Udoh in rounds 2 – 4, I would be ecstatic. You are going to see a lot of multi-round mock drafts giving the Browns players at linebacker, safety, corner and offensive line, which makes sense based on the Browns biggest needs. Additionally, I would not be surprised if the Browns use some of their picks and move up into the first round to get either LB Devin Bush or DT Jeffery Simmons.
That’s it for this week’s mailbag. We hope that you all have a Happy Easter or Passover, whichever you celebrate! We will see you again after the holidays.
