The Cleveland Crunch continued their quest for a league title Saturday against the Muskegon Risers at Mercy Health Arena in Muskegon, Michigan.
Needless to say, the Crunch had me on the edge of my seat the entire game! The Risers were up in the first, but Ryan Minick tied the game for the Crunch at one after the first quarter.
The Risers would tack on another goal to take a 2-1 lead going into halftime. In the third quarter, the Crunch were playing from behind but would keep the game close as Chris Cvecko would add a goal to make it a 3-2 game in favor of the Risers at the end of the third.
In the fourth, the Risers were up 4-3, but that would change when Ryan Minick would add his second goal of the night for the crunch and tie the game at four. Sami Mutemwa would add another goal and give the Crunch a 5-4 lead. The Risers would tie the game at five with one minute left in the game. The Crunch would add two more goals, one by Kevin Blackwood and a Mike Derezic goal to close out the game for the Crunch with a 7-5 win and Ryan Minick would get the ” Man of the Match” honors for his two goals in the match.
The Crunch are now 3-0 and will look to extend that streak. The Crunch will be back on the road after the holiday as they travel to Chicago to take on the Mustangs. Details will be out as they arrive.
