The seventh chapter of the 2020 NFL Book has been written and is now part of the story.
The last two undefeated AFC teams met in Nashville in a game which was originally scheduled to happen in Week 4. Pittsburgh was up 24-7 at halftime, so it looked like the Steelers could just go on cruise control in the second half. But Tennessee refused to let that happen as they attempted to come all the way. However, the kicking woes of Stephen Gostkowski reared their ugly head.
The Atlanta Falcons figure out yet another way to lose a game. This time, Falcons running back Todd Gurley tried to go down short of the goal line, however, his momentum carried him into the end zone. This gave the Lions enough time to go down the field and get the game winning score.
The 49ers roll into Gillette Stadium and hand the Patriots their worst home loss in two decades. Cam Newton never looked comfortable in this game, while Jimmy G looked very happy in his old stomping grounds. It seems like the good times in New England might be over.
Did the Arizona Cardinals just prove that they’re legit playoff contenders for this season? Perhaps they did, we’ll have to wait and see. Arizona’s defense forced three turnovers off of Russell Wilson, which is straight up unheard of. Kyler Murray was able to go toe to toe with Russell Wilson and that was amazing to watch and something special.
