After an individual workout for former Steelers TE Jesse James on Thursday afternoon, The Cleveland Browns had an official team visit on Friday morning with former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Joe Haeg.
Haeg has been receiving a lot of attention lately around the NFL, most recently meeting with the Las Vegas Raiders officials last Thursday but no deal was made between the two parties involved.
As former teammates with star QB Carson Wentz while at North Dakota State, Joe Haeg then entered his National Football League career being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round as the 155th overall pick during the 2016 NFL Draft.
After four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, making 35 career starts for their franchise, Haeg continued his NFL career playing one year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, making three starts in 12 games and becoming a Super Bowl Champion with their franchise in 2020.
Haeg’s most recent NFL team was with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2021 season, only playing five games and starting in one game before being released on August 30th, 2022.
NFL reporter Mike Garafolo has stated that the veteran tackle plans to sign with the Cleveland Browns in the upcoming days.
The move is viewed as a solid depth move for the franchise and would help the Browns immensely if any offensive line injuries occurred during the NFL season.
