Cleveland picked up a gem in J.C. Tretter after his stint in Green Bay ended. He’s 26 with fresh legs and is most certainly better than Cam Erving at center. He inked a three-year, $16.75 million contract. The deal contains $6.5 million guaranteed — a $4.5 million signing bonus and Tretter’s 2017 base salary. Tretter is eligible for annual $250,000 roster bonuses. During the ’17 season, Tretter started the first seven games of the season before suffering a sprained MCL and underwent knee surgery in January. This addition allows the Browns to move Cameron Erving off the pivot, where he was not a fit.
