Cleveland Browns Bring Back Hometown Football Star: TE Pharaoh Brown

On October 5th, the Cleveland Browns made an official signing of fellow Ohio native TE Pharaoh Brown after recently being waived by the Houston Texans. According to multiple reports, Cleveland sent FS Richard LeCounte to practice squad in response.

The local Lyndhurst and Brush high school star went to the University of Oregon from 2012-2016, making 70 career receptions and 13 touchdowns during his four years playing for the Oregon Ducks, becoming a 2× First-team Pac-12 for 2014 and 2016 seasons.

Despite such achievements, Brown himself went undrafted during the 2017 NFL Draft, eventually being signed by the Oakland Raiders as a undrafted free agent.

With Pharaoh Brown entering his 5th season in the National Football League, he has played for the then named Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns back in 2018-2019 and now once again in 2022.

With 42 career games on his resume, Pharaoh Brown has made 46 receptions for 433 receiving yards and two touchdowns during five years in the NFL.

For his current plans with the roster going forward, Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt stated that “can allow the offense to use more 13 personnel and he could possibly play this week”.

His new number will be #84 for his comeback season in Cleveland as the Browns are set to play against the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday afternoon, he’s expected to play a big role going forward.

Best of luck to newly-signed Pharaoh Brown on making the Cleveland Browns roster again and hopefully for a longer stay this time!
