Cleveland Browns 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Baker Mayfield Finds A New Home

QB Baker Mayfield celebrates the Cleveland Browns clinching their first playoff berth in 18 years.
Round 7, Pick 223: LB Carson Wells, Colorado
Remember this kid’s name because he could be the steal of the draft. The Browns are looking for depth at the linebacker position and Wells will fit the bill. Wells is a savvy, smart football player who has worked hard his whole life to get to this point. He grew up on a farm and was the valedictorian of his high school.
He’s a tall linebacker at 6’4 and 250 pounds. He finished with 154 tackles and 39 for losses. He also sacked the quarterback 17.5 times. He also had three interceptions, eight pass deflections and forced a fumble. He was everywhere all the time.
Round 7, Pick 248: CB Joshua Williams, Fayetteville State
The Browns can always use more cornerbacks. Williams played at a D2 school but don’t let you think he won’t be able to compete and be a star in the NFL. He stands at 6’3 and has outstanding speed and agility to play well against the wide receivers he’s defending. He ran the 40-yard dash recently in 4.53 seconds. His speed and ability to shift on a play are good.
It will take him time to adapt to the league but look for this youngster to make a name for himself in the NFL and look for the Browns to call his name on Day 3 of the draft.
