Cavs Have Nothing to Lose

After Game 3 of this year’s NBA Finals, a dark cloud about how no team has ever come back from down 3-0 loomed over the Cavs and the City of Cleveland. Sure, the team had come down from 3-1 last year, but as we all know, Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 and Kevin Durant had yet to become a sellout loser traitor.

Yet led by LeBron James, with another signature elimination game playoffs (31-10-11) and Kyrie Irving showing up as well (40-7-4), the boys from Cleveland lived to see another day. The final score of 137-116 represented a city that never plans to stop fighting no matter the circumstances.

Right now, the Warriors have a 3-1 lead and all the pressure is on them. LeBron is on a possession-by-possession mindset and it doesn’t appear any legacy talk matters to him anymore. The Snake, Kevin Durant, doesn’t know how to close a series. The Warriors as a whole haven’t beaten a full-strength Cavs teams yet in the finals…ever.

Embarrassment for LeBron and company has turned into a new lease on life. More than likely, the Warriors will win one of the next three games and become champions. But there’s that lingering reminder of last year’s triumph from down 3-1 to win the title.

In the 47th season of the San Jose Sharks, the NHL team came back from down 3-0 in the NHL Stanley Cup. This year of 2016-17 is the 47th campaign for the Cavaliers. If you’re a believer in history repeating itself, then cling to that idea. (Gary The Numbers Guy)

Most of all, we have LeBron James.

And listen, I’m tired of all the debate. This man is the greatest to ever play the game and he’s still suiting up in a Wine and Gold jersey. Plus, Kyrie and company are finding a groove.

Game 5 will be in Oakland on Monday night and it’s no holds barred. If the Cavs lose, one has to appreciate the effort this team made down 3-0 and even a spirited Game 3 performance. And if they win, look out. Game 6 at home is almost a guaranteed win and then it’s another Game 7.

So hang on, Cleveland. It’s not the time to give up just yet. Saddle up for what is shaping up to be another thriller on Monday night.

You know The King will have the squad ready.
