The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed with the Indiana Pacers to acquire guard Caris LeVert. Caris has been on the Cavs radar for some time. In return for LeVert, the Cavs are sending Ricky Rubio and his expiring contract, along with a lottery-protected 2022 first-round pick and two second-round picks per sources.
According to a tweet by Joe Vardon of the athletic, “Caris LeVert just walked into the arena in Cleveland, having just been told he was traded to the Cavaliers. He’s in the Pacers’ locker room now, talking on the phone to his new president of basketball ops, Koby Altman.”
Caris LeVert will be an octane boost to the Cavs’ offense. For the season, he is averaging:
- 18.7 PPG
- 3.8 RPG
- 4.4 APG
- 44.7 FG %
He also adds a 2nd primary ball-handler to the mix, which should take some added pressure off Darius Garland.
What do you think of the move? Does this help the Cavs get to the next level? Let us know.
