Cavaliers Trade Kyrie Irving to Boston

As of 7:25 pm EST, the Cavs have officially traded Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics. The Cavs received Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Žižić and the Nets 2018 first round pick.

When the trade talks initially started, all I really hoped was that he would go anywhere but Boston. Unfortunately, they were the team with the most assets available. It is going to be weird to see the hero of the Cavs’ 2016 championship wearing the uniform of their biggest rival in the East.

The Cavs got way more in this trade than any other team could have offered. The team accomplished the goals they had set of adding both veteran and young talent. They are now set up for not only next season but also beyond with the Nets’ 2018 pick.

Still, even though they got so much in return, it is hard to see Kyrie Irving leave. It is going to take quite a while to get used to seeing two players I absolutely hated, Derrick Rose and Isaiah Thomas, replace a player that I adored. If Kyrie went to any other team, I would wish him the best, but since he went to Boston, I’ll be rooting for them to lose every game next season. I hope Kyrie enjoys the 30+ points per game that he wanted so dearly as he gets obliterated by LeBron in the East.

As for Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder, I take back everything bad I’ve ever said about you guys and I forgive you both for everything bad you have said about Cleveland.
