Cavaliers Sign Larry Nance Jr To 4-Year, $45 Million Dollar Deal

The Cavaliers have signed Larry Nance Jr to a 4-year, $45 million dollar deal. In the last year of his rookie contract, Larry Nance had until midnight to sign his extension, or he would become a restricted free agent next summer. After being traded from the Lakers, Nance Jr. averaged 8.9 points and 7.0 rebounds with the Cavs. Nance provided a spark off the bench last season and will share the starting center duties with Tristan Thompson this year.

Currently, he’s questionable to play in their season opener on Wednesday after missing practice today with a sprained ankle.

Nance is young and still developing, but $45 million is a large contract for a player with his skillset. This contract represents the Cavs trust that he will become an integral part of this team moving forward. He’s worked hard on his jump shot this offseason, so we will get a much better look once the regular season starts. We will see how he continues to develop this year after a full offseason with the Cavs organization and an increased role in their rotation.
