Bruce Chen Gets Spring Invite
News broke tonight that long time left handed reliever Bruce Chen has been invited to spring training with the Indians. Chen, age 37, has been in the league for 16 years.
Via CBS Sports: “Chen pitched in 2014 for the Royals, posting a 2-4 record with a 7.45 ERA in 48 1/3 innings pitched. In his 16-year career, Chen has a 82-79 record with a 4.55 ERA and 1,135 strikeouts over 1,524 2/3 innings pitched.”
Chen has been a real journeyman pitching for Kansas City, Atlanta, Baltimore, New York M, Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Cincinnati and Houston.
Cleveland is his newest destination. He has agreed to a one million dollar contract with one million in additional performance-based incentives.
