Browns Vs. Eagles, Why Am I Watching?

I’m watching to see how the young guys play in a hostile environment. Let’s see who steps up. Thursday night the Browns play the Eagles at 7:30 pm EST on NFL Network. It’s the only preseason game being played that night so the spotlight is definitely on. After two days of scrimmages, day one was won by the Browns and day two was won by the Eagles. Not bad against the reining NFC champions. Thursday night’s game will feature both teams’ backups. What am I going to be watching?
Browns Offense Vs. Eagles Defense. The Browns announced Dorian Thomsson-Robinson will start and play the first half and Kellen Mond will play the second half. As with the last two games, Nick Chubb will not play and the running backs will again be Demetric Felton, John Kelly, Hassan Hall and possibly Jordan Wilkins. At wide receiver, the Browns will feature Cedric Tillman, David Bell and Austin Watkins. I’ll be watching the young offensive line, James Hudson and Dawand Jones, as well as Luke Wypler. I’m very interested in seeing how well tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden plays. He came up big in the game against Washington and Harrison Bryant seems to have a mysterious health issue. As for the Eagles defense, they feature their young and talented backups. Defensive tackles Jalen Cater and Milton Williams. They have very talented linebackers featuring Myles Jack, Nicholas Morrow and Zach Cunningham. In the secondary, former Browns cornerback Greedy Williams should play.
Browns Defense Vs. Eagles Offense. I hope the Browns start defensive tackle Shelby Harris because he needs the reps. Other starters should be DT Jordan Elloitt, DT Siaki Ika, DE Isaiah McGuire, LB Tony Fields, LB Jordan Kunaszyk, LB Matthew Adams. CB Cameron Mitchell, CB Mike Ford, S D’Anthony Bell and S Ronnie Hickman. I’ll be interested in watching LBs Charles Thomas and Mohamoud Diabate. All eyes will be on kicker Cade York. I want to see further improvement in the kick coverage unit. The Eagles offense will feature backup quarterbacks Marcus Mariota, Tanner McKee and Ian Book. Their running backs should be Rashaad Penny and Boston Scott. Philadelphia has been suffering through injuries at the wide receiver position, so expect Greg Ward and Tyrie Cleveland to start.
Even though backups will be starting for both teams, this is still a good barometer for the Browns. The Eagles are a very talented and very deep team.
