The Browns have traded quarterback Joshua Dobbs to the Arizona Cardinals for a 5th-round pick. The team will be giving up an additional 7th rounder as well. This gives Cleveland 1.5 million more in cap room for next season too.

Via BR: has completed 65.2 percent of his passes for 348 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He helped lead Cleveland to a comeback win over the New York Jets in the Hall of Fame Game to kick off the preseason.

The team also pulled quarterback Kellen Mond back off of waivers after making this move. Now, it’s just a matter of whether DTR or Mond will be the backup quarterback to Deshaun Watson in Cleveland.

Dobbs was a very capable backup quarterback after starting in eight games (six with the Steelers and two with the Titans) in his career since 2017. Thus, the Browns must really see something in DTR to have made this move for simply a 5th-round pick in return…

Hopefully, the team won’t need either of these quarterbacks and Watson can stay healthy for many seasons to come!
