With the Cleveland Browns back for Week 1 football against the Carolina Panthers, playing against former starting quarterback and team captain Baker Mayfield, The Browns have recently announced their new team captains following the announcement of the 53-man roster.

The news was announced last Wednesday that the Cleveland Browns are back to having full-time captains this year and five were elected by their teammates: G Joel Bitonio, RB Nick Chubb, EDGE Myles Garrett, LB Anthony Walker, & LS Charley Hughlett.

Captain #1: Joel Bitonio (Guard)

Cleveland’s longest tenured player on the roster, playing an astounding eight seasons and 112 games as a starter for the Cleveland Browns franchise, is the team’s best offensive lineman since future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas retired back in 2018.

The 4x All-Pro guard is a respected player and the NFL and will serve as the Cleveland Browns captain for the most feared offensive line in the league.

 

Captain #2: Myles Garrett (EDGE)

The former number one overall pick in 2017 is set to have a monster year, setting up from an amazing 2021 season with 51 tackles and 16 sacks.

The 3x All-Pro edge rusher is one of the most feared players in the NFL; serving as the Cleveland Browns co-captain on defense alongside Browns linebacker Anthony Walker.

 

Captain #3: Nick Chubb (RB)

 

The dominant running back is set to takeover with backup QB Jacoby Brissett in charge for Deshaun Watson’s suspension, Chubb is a force of nature and head coach Stefanski sees that.

Nick Chubb during the 2021-2022 season had 1,259 rushing yards on 228 carries, scoring eight rushing touchdowns for the Cleveland Browns.

 

Captain #4: Anthony Walker (LB)

A beloved team captain, playing his second season for Cleveland Browns, Anthony Walker will be a co-captain of Browns defense alongside superstar Myles Garrett.

Captain #5: Charley Hughlett (Long Snapper)

Since joining the team in 2014, the seasoned long snapper is set yet again to be the Cleveland Browns special teams leader.
