Browns Sign Two Additional Defensive Linemen

The Cleveland Browns are really making moves this offseason, especially to improve the defense. With signings such as defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson to safety Juan Thornhill, it’s clear this team isn’t messing around.
However, that was only the beginning as the team just signed defensive tackles Maurice Hurst on a one-year deal from the 49ers and Trysten Hill (no word on the length of the contract yet) from the Arizona Cardinals.
Now, these two signings are certainly more for depth than any say superstar addition. Like for example the team is potentially investing 57 million in Dalvin Tomlinson. This isn’t the case with these two signings.
Hurst, age 27, is 6’2 and 291 pounds. On August 1, 2022, was placed on injured reserve with a torn bicep, ending his season. For his career in playing since 2018, Hurst has 78 total tackles, eight sacks, seven pass deflections and a single forced fumble (two fumble recoveries) and one interception.
Hurst as a member of the 49ers
Hill (pictured at top of page), age 24, is 6’3 and 310 pounds. Originally, he played for the Cowboys from 2019-2022 and then a single season with the Cardinals. His career featured 39 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Now, a team can never have too much depth, but it’s not as if these two are going to be the deciding factor on if the Browns make the playoffs or get to the Super Bowl etc.
Solid signings. Let’s see what these two can do to help the team throughout the season.
