The Cleveland Browns are completing something that most fans knew had to be done. Locking up a key wide receiver for at least one more season at the rate of 910K. Now, for a normal job, that’s an amazing salary. A football player usually would expect more. Higgins wanted to play with QB Baker Mayfield. That’s what lured him back to the Browns when he could have signed elsewhere and maybe made millions.
Higgins’ 2019 was nothing to remember with only four catches for 55 yards and one touchdown. However, in four seasons, the Colorado State product has a combined 76 catches, 1,016 yards and seven touchdowns. Besides, it’s not as if he’s expected to be a number one receiver on the team with Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry donning the Orange and Brown.
It’s obvious that Higgins is important to the Browns.
The man is yet another reliable receiver for Mayfield to throw the ball to and can be counted on to make plays consistently. This is another great move by a front office that has done a tremendous amount of fantastic moves for this team as of late.
Watch as this year defenses target OBJ and Landry. A guy that may help the Browns win games is Hollywood Higgins.
