The Cleveland Browns have signed WR Davion Davis. Davion is a 5’11’’ wide receiver who last played for the Blues of The Spring League in 2021. He weighs in at 190 lbs. Davion went to college at Sam Houston State.
Davion has one year of NFL experience. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2019 by the Minnesota Vikings. He did not make the final roster cuts but was later added to the practice squad. Davis was promoted to the active roster in late September of 2019. He did not see any live-action and was waived in the middle of October. He was once again added to the practice squad, then promoted to the active roster, and finally made his NFL debut on October 24 against the Redskins. He was later waived in November and re-signed to the practice squad. He was finally officially waived for good in August of 2020. So after over a year of an on-and-off-again relationship with the Vikings, now he’s joining a loaded Cleveland Browns wide receiver group.
The Browns have Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Anthony Schwartz, KhaDarel Hodge, JoJo Natson, Ja-Marcus Bradley, Alexander Hollins and Ryan Switzer all on the roster already. It will be interesting to see if Davion can compete for a roster spot during training camp. Davion was a participant in the Browns mandatory minicamp in June. He will wear jersey number 16 for the Browns.
