Browns Roster Analysis – Quarterback
DeShone Kizer
Kizer (6’4″ 233) started 15 games in his first year with the team and lost every game. The rookie is only 21 years of age and can only grow and improve because you can’t get much worse. Kizer completed just 53.6% of his passes, threw 22 interceptions and lost six of his nine fumbles. This all being signs of a wretched season and the worst part is the lack of improvement shown as the year progressed. Kizer earned $899,712 in 2017 and is due around $4 million over the next three years. Cleveland selected the kid with a second-round draft and would be kind of disappointing to give up on him this soon, but with a new general manager in place, a decision will need to be made. Commit to him, keep him as back up, trade him or release him.
