Everyone who knows me knows that my favorite movie series is the Rocky series with Sylvester Stallone and Carl Weathers making it so unique. Well, now we have a different set of circumstances.

“Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is taking the offense to the Bahamas for offseason workouts and chemistry-building, per Josina Anderson of CBS Sports.

“I’m told Browns QB Deshaun Watson is treating the offense to Puerto Rico this weekend,” Anderson wrote. “The trip is for team-building and football chemistry as Watson has also secured a field there to continue offseason workouts.”

First of all, this is so cool that he is treating the entire offense to a weekend away. Next, the fact that the offense gets to go to the Bahamas to work out is even cooler because that is such a nice place to go for any type of vacation, let alone an NFL team-bonding outing.

The reason why this relates to my love for Rocky is simple. In Rocky III, Apollo Creed had Rocky train with him on the beach in order for a rematch with clubber Lang (Mr. T). They did various training exercises, but the most important one was Rocky running on the beach and eventually becoming faster than Apollo.

I just think there is something about being on the beach that makes everything better. Like look at this photo of me back when I was graduating high school with all of these wonderful girls:

Zach, you have no idea what is coming your way buddy.

Oh, well.

The point is the time on the beach is always a good one and I believe that is what DeShaun wanted with his offensive counterparts.

Hopefully, the offense is able to go through some training, exercises and simply just hanging out together as a “family,” so to speak. Obviously, the team isn’t able to run offensive plays as if they were on an actual football field. That will be handled back in Cleveland with our lovely weather conditions and such throughout the course of the year.

Thanks, DeShaun. Yeah, you are set to make like $230 million dollars as a member of the Browns over the course of the five years as this contract entails. Thus, QB1 isn’t going poor because of it.

REGARDLESS – it’s still a great idea and hopefully everyone had a blast, got just a tad more into shape and is just ready for the football season this fall with Week 1 beginning at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Won’t spoil to the outcome of the Rocky 3 Final Fight 😉
