Jacques Cesaire was hired by the Cleveland Browns to be their new defensive line, coach and part of Jim Schwartz’s defensive coaching. He replaces Ben Bloom who had the role last season. However, Bloom may stay on the Cleveland coaching staff in another capacity next season.
It’s an interesting hire, considering that he’s coming from the Houston Texans, who just defeated the Cleveland Browns in the playoffs. However, Cesaire contract was not renewed by the Texans. Houston’s defense came on late in the season and got better but that did not save the defensive lineman coach’s job.
He comes to Cleveland and will get to coach Myles Garrett along with a player like Dalvin Tomlinson.
Cesaire has a strong background is a good coach having worked with Los Angeles Chargers and the Buffalo Bills in his past.
This move by the Browns along with picking up running back Coach Duce Staley good moves that show that the team is moving in the right direction.
The team is still in search of an offensive coordinator and we might hear more about that after these games are played in the playoffs on Sunday.
