Browns Extend Kirksey, Solidify Defense For Future

Today, it was announced that the Browns have extended ILB Christian Kirksey to a four-year deal worth $38 million and $20 M of that is guaranteed. It’s well-deserved as Kirksey anchored the defense last season with 148 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and kept together a bunch of scrubs that actually won a game.

Some may say that this is too much money for his value, but the Browns did have a lot to spend. I like the idea of finally trying to kept the players we drafted in Cleveland, eliminating the idea of free agency.

Browns content manager Rod Bluhm says, “Locking up Christian Kirksey proves once again that this franchise wants to keep talent and is building this thing the right way.” He continues, “What a great move by Sashi and the Browns.”

It is a great move and one that allows the Browns to keep a talented defensive player in The Land as the team improves and starts to become formidable again.
