Browns Activate Nick Chubb From IR

As the Browns prepare for their next opponent in the Houston Texans, there was a dose of good news in the air today for a team that has otherwise been battered by the injury bug this season. While RB Kareem Hunt has been holding his own with the running game, a little help never hurts. The Browns offense will get far more than that when RB Nick Chubb likely returns the field this Sunday.

After sustaining a knee injury against the Cowboys in Week 4, the return of #24 will be a sight for sore eyes. While Browns fans were likely the only individuals who cringed more at the injury than Chubb himself, the former Georgia running back did these past five weeks what he always does…lay low, didn’t say much and just took care of business. With the offense scoring an abysmal six points against Las Vegas in their previous game, Chubb should certainly be a shot in the arm that the team needs.

Before going on the IR, Chubb racked up 335 yards on the ground and is still ahead of many of the league’s backs despite missing all that time. Number 24 got his feet wet earlier today returning to practice where Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski liked what he saw. As reported on ClevelandBrowns.com, “It was a first practice, and there are three more to go before a decision is made about Chubb’s status for Sunday’s game against the Texans, but it was a good first step.”

Nick Chubb’s brutal ground game has punished opponents in the past as his ability bears an uncanny likeness to Marvel’s Juggernaut character. Once this guy gets a little momentum behind him, he becomes the proverbial unstoppable force. While it is not official that the Chubbernaut will be active this coming Sunday against Houston, it is a smoking gun case where you can bet he will be suited up and ready to go.

Expect the Browns two-headed backfield beast to return this Sunday against the Texans.
