4th Down and Goal: One game at a time

Last season, we Browns fans were treated to a season of many wonderful firsts. It was the first time we beat Pittsburgh in what seemed forever. It was the first time we won a playoff game. It was the first time the team had won 11 games in the regular season in like 30 years. It was the first time we finally had found our franchise quarterback in Baker Mayfield. It was the first time the Browns won the game with their coach in his home basement while out with Covid. There were so many high points to the season. It was really a magical year.

And now we have all been spoiled rotten and while the team sits at a mediocre 5-5, it feels to most fans that the sky is falling. It was only four seasons ago that the Browns went 0-16. So there should be some perspective to the madness. If the Browns lose Sunday to the Lions, it will certainly be another rough week to follow for the players, coaches and fans that love their Browns.

I’d like to hear, as I did a year ago when Stefanski was always preaching to his players, that the team should try and win the week and take things one game at a time. We certainly haven’t heard those sentiments much this year. Coach, this would be an excellent opportunity to refocus and preach that message
