2nd Down and Goal: Nick Chubb to the rescue
Since the Browns are disregarding good reasoning when it comes to playing Mayfield this week, I’m holding out hope that Browns’ best player, running back Nick Chubb can rescue the team and steady the ship. His ability to get big chunks of yards in key moments and keep the chains moving and the clock too can only help this team at the moment. Chubb is zeroing in on 1000 yards for the season despite only playing in seven games.
He’s the most valuable asset that this team has and can be that deciding factor in the outcome of any game. If the Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski calls a good game Sunday then Chubb should easily rumble for more than 100 yards. The Lions defense is giving up a whopping 135 yards a game. While the Browns run game is tops in the NFL going for a nice 154 yards.
With weather conditions listed as miserable for the game, a nice cold rain along with wind, these are perfect conditions for the team to rely on their best player. Does that happen Sunday? I’m hoping that the Browns don’t try and start the game in an open backfield and go five-wide with their wide receivers. Stick to your advantages Browns and play to win the game with Chubb.
