Browns 1st and Goal Report: A Christmas Miracle Awaits

3rd Down: The Browns can win the division

With the Baltimore Ravens losing to the Green Bay Packers Sunday, that helped the Browns’ chances at trying to win the AFC North division. Yes, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals won, but it was the Ravens loss that was the most important with only three games left for the teams after today. Even if the Browns were to lose this game today against the Raiders and the Packers next week when they travel up to Green Bay to play them, it’s the last two divisional games against the Steelers and Bengals that’ll decide the division.

The Ravens still have to play the Bengals, the Los Angeles Rams and the Steelers to close out their season. If the Ravens lose two of those three games, then the Browns would finish with the same record as Baltimore; that’s going with the idea that they would have beaten the Steelers and Bengals themselves. The Ravens’ 2-4 record in the division would make them losers in the tiebreaker with the Browns who would end up at 4-2 in divisional games.

So don’t fret too much these next two games, Browns fans. It’s the last two games that are instrumental in getting our favorite team into the playoffs.
