Browns 1st and Goal Report: A Christmas Miracle Awaits

1st Down: Who’s in? Who’s out?
The Browns have had over 20 players listed on the Covid list. Primarily, their starting quarterback Baker Mayfield was listed. Even their backup quarterback Case Keenum was there too. So, it looks like the Browns will be going with Nick Mullins as their starter in the game? Who is that? He’s actually started 16 games in his NFL career, all of them with the San Francisco 49ers. He has a 5-11 record. He’s thrown 25 touchdowns and 22 interceptions in his starts.
The Browns look like they will get four players back in the game that was once on the Covid list. That would be tight end David Njoku, offensive lineman Wyatt Teller, defensive lineman Takk Mckinley and then safety John Johnson III. This will help a bit but not what most were hoping for with the extra two days to test players to come off the list.
What the NFL does moving forward beyond this season, and how they go about testing players for this ever-evolving virus is going to have to be evaluated because the situations teams are being put in, even when following the guidelines don’t seem to be working.
