A scary scene occurred tonight during the Columbus Blue Jackets and Dallas Stars game. Dallas Stars’ Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench during the 1st period. Thankfully the Stars’ training staff was quick to the scene and Peverley was rushed to the hospital. He was reported to be conscious and in stable condition at the hospital. The game was postponed because of a “result of the emotional state of the players on both teams caused by the medical emergency.” At the scene, both fans and players stood in shock as Peverley collapsed.
He has a history of heart problems, last year having surgery to fix a irregular heart beat. An issue that kept him out of the preseason and the first game of the regular season. This game will be made up, as both Dallas and Columbus being in the playoff hunt.
