Breaking! Browns Sign Brian Hartiline
BREAKING NEWS!
The Browns have just reportedly signed wide receiver Brian Hartline to a 2 year, 6 million dollar contract. The 28 year old receiver spent his first five years in the league with the Miami Dolphins. He was drafted in the 4th round back in 2009.
Last season, Hartline had 39 receptions for 474 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was a down year from his previous two in which he surpassed the 1,000 yard mark twice. Most cite that this past year he was phased out of the new Dolphins spread offense which caused a drastic dip in his numbers.
At the beginning of the 2013 season, as a member of the Dolphins, Hartline caught 9 balls for 114 yards and a touchdown against our very own Cleveland Browns in a 23-10 win.
Hartline is a solid possession receiver that can get the Browns a first down when needed. He’s not going to wow anyone with explosive plays, but he gets the job done. He’s quick too, able to bolt open for receptions.
The newly signed receiver will be joining Andrew Hawkins and a possible draft choice as the explosive options for whomever is the quarterback come fall. It’s nice to see the Browns finally sign a weapon to give the quarterback a chance!
Welcome home, Brian.
