The undersized Sooners quarterback is headed for the NFL Draft in Dallas.
However, he will not be physically in attendance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This speaks to Baker Mayfield’s personality. He’s a tenacious competitor on the field who has let his off-the-field antics write his story in the past.
Mayfield is such a difficult prospect to compare because he’s a mobile QB with outstanding accuracy. Needless to say, the six-foot quarterback is going to compare a lot of comparisons to Johnny Manziel. However, in the right fit, could be Russell Wilson.
The best fit for Mayfield would be in a patient situation where he could be the starter right away and learn from experience. He wants to play and win right now. The Arizona Cardinals would be the ideal fit for Mayfield, but it is rather doubtful that he slides that far.
The Denver Broncos and John Elway have expressed their approval of the passion of Mayfield. That would be another good fit.
Realistically, the Jets, Broncos or Bills are probably best suited to draft Mayfield because of their draft positioning.
