This is the first in what should be a weekly installment of the best college and professional football bets of the upcoming weekend. All spreads, money lines, and over/unders are according to Fox Bet. Reader beware, I’m an amateur sports bettor and lack a crystal ball.
Best College Football Bets:
Indiana -7 over Michigan State
This feels like a really good bet. Michigan State (besides one helluva game against Michigan) has been awful this year. Indiana, however, is the real deal and they have wins over Big 10 heavyweights Penn State and Michigan.
Miami +2 against Virginia Tech
Miami is the better team and I think they’ll win the game. Miami quarterback D’Eriq King is the best player on either team and an absolute game-changer. They’re being given two points which really adds value.
Best NFL Bets of the Week:
Baltimore -7 over New England
New England quarterback Cam Newton has summoned his best two games this year against the miserable Jets and the defensively challenged Seahawks. I highly doubt he has a good game against this stifling Baltimore defense. The Ravens will win ugly and cover the spread, something like 21-10 or 24-14.
The Chicago Bears against the Minnesota Vikings +3
Not only are the Bears at home, but I believe they’re the better team. Their defense is excellent and I’m one of the few remaining QB Nick Foles believers.
Underdog of the Week:
Boston College +14 against Notre Dame
No, I don’t think Boston College pulls off this upset, but the final score will be closer than 14. Boston College is a quality team and definitely a trap game after Notre Dame’s big win against Clemson.
