Baker Mayfield for MVP? I’d Bet on It

Yes, you read that right. Baker Mayfield is being considered as a dark horse for the MVP of the National Football League. This very well could be something that comes true. He is the starting quarterback on a team that is an actual Super Bowl Contender. The Cleveland Browns are considered to be one of the top teams in the AFC this season.

The Browns have a pretty stacked roster offensively with Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Austin Hooper, Joel Bitonio, J.C. Tretter, Jedrick Wills Jr. and Wyatt Teller. That roster would not be complete without a quarterback to lead them all to the promised land and a coach to make everything operate smoothly.

The Browns now have both.

Baker Mayfield is entering his 4th season as a member of the Cleveland Browns and is poised to have his best year yet. For the first time in his young career, he will have the same coach as he did for the previous year. That man is Kevin Stefanski. Better known as, NFL Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski. So with a roster like the Browns have, an elite young head coach and Baker Mayfield to lead them all, the Browns are ready to prove themselves as real contenders.

After winning their first postseason game since 1994, the Browns are ready to win more. If the Browns play like they’re projected to, it’ll be because of Baker’s exceptional quarterbacking, which will put him into MVP conversations. Baker Mayfield’s odds for winning the MVP, according to DraftKings Sportsbook, are +3300. This means a $100 bet will win you $3,300. That is quite a hefty amount of money to put on a risky bet, but in the case of Baker Mayfield and this Cleveland Browns team, it’s something I’m willing to do.
