It was the bottom of the 5th inning and the Indians had a two-run lead in Fenway against Boston. Slugger Hanley Ramirez was at the plate and blasted one to deep right center. Indians center fielder Austin Jackson raced back towards to short wall, leaped (full-extension) with his glove well over the wall, caught the ball, was clipped over the fence, fell down and hung on.

It was a catch! Even by NFL standards.

At the time, it preserved the lead and kept the momentum on Cleveland’s side. But more than that, it reminded us all just how breathtaking the game of baseball can be.

Watch it here:

While the Indians ended up losing the game in the most terrible of ways, even the Boston faithful gave a round of applause to Jackson for his incredible display of athleticism and concentration.

For the catch, CST is awarding Austin Jackson a ‘Larry’ award! Congrats!
