Analyzing OBJ’s Press Conference

All right, I’m pumped.

Yeah, I was cynical before when new Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. missed all but one of the OTAs. Now, they are voluntary and he was working out on his own, but I felt it would’ve been nice for him to be with the team.

Now, he’s here.

He’s literally here.

In Cleveland.

Getting ready to represent our team this fall.

Beyond football – I like Odell. He appears to be a great guy. Someone that cares about his teammates, his self-image and his craft.

If you’re a great guy, however, and drop a bunch of passes to lose a game – no one is going to relish your character. The thing with OBJ is he has proven over the years just how amazing he is at this game, with his many years of success as a Giant. That was the opposing argument for the whole OTA debacle – he already knows the game.

“That’s my guy.” Odell says about QB Baker Mayfield.

The Browns have a lot of talent on this team. It’ll take some time for everyone to get on the same page, but as Odell said, the games aren’t until September.

Between the bond of OBJ and fellow WR Jarvis Landry, to Baker being the QB and Nick Chubb as RB, to the defensive side with DE Myles Garrett and CB Denzel Ward – look out. This team is stacked on both sides of the ball.

“I am trying deep down inside to grow and mature – to be a man. And I’ve taken steps.” – OBJ

So have I, OBJ. I admire your character, your ability and I cannot wait to see you on the field. I thought you handled the press extremely well and did a great job with the questions thrown your way.

Keep up the good work.

NOTE: The Cleveland Sports Talk re-launch is tomorrow night at 8 p.m. The new website looks great and it will be LIVE at that time. I hope you are able to check it out and continue to support the brand you love! – Zach
