With all that has gone on in the world of sports during a Covid-stricken year, the last thing you expected to hear in the football world was that the Cleveland Browns were in the playoffs. Well, it happened. What was even crazier was that the Browns won their first playoff game since 1994, beating the Steelers in the wild card round.

The biggest test came when the Browns traveled to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to play QB Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in what I dubbed the “Marty Bowl” as former head coach Marty Schottenheimer coached both the Browns and the Chiefs during his tenure in the league.

Down 19-3 at halftime, the Browns would make a comeback and get the offense in gear to within five points. Browns QB Baker Mayfield would go 23/37 for 204 yards, one touchdown and one interception. To say Baker held his own these two playoff games is an understatement.

This Browns team is on the rise.

Yes, the final score was 22-17 and ended a great season, but let’s not forget that this Browns team had been fighting and showing up every game win or lose. In my book, head coach Kevin Stefanski is and should be “Coach of the Year” because what he has done in his first year as Browns head coach is a job deserving of that award and more!

If you’re a Browns fan, this loss may hurt, but the future is looking so bright for the team and organization. The city should be proud. We have a team headed in the right direction! Expect a reloaded team next year.
