A Nightmare Monday Night for Cleveland

The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are rivals in the AFC North. They were on Primetime for a Monday Night Football game. Both teams were not impressive. Both teams had a lousy offensive performance. The Steelers won this game mostly because of their defense. The defense scored two touchdowns in this game. Steel City handed the Browns their first loss of the season, 26-22.
Turnovers killed the Browns. If it wasn’t for the turnovers, we might’ve had a different conversation. If Deshaun Watson hadn’t stunk up the joint, we might’ve had a different conversation. But the biggest storyline of this game is running back Nick Chubb.
Cleveland sports can’t seem to catch a break especially when good things are slowly coming around. Chubb suffered a gruesome knee in the second quarter. It’s a punch to the gut to this team and the city of Cleveland. Nick Chubb missed four games in 2020 with an MCL injury. He also dealt with knee injuries back in college as a member of the Georgia Bulldogs.
The offense goes as long as Nick Chubb goes. It’s a good thing that Nick got paid before this injury happened. Now, the Browns will have to rely on Jerome Ford. He didn’t have a bad game last night. Browns hope that they can get maximum production out of him, but we understand that he’s no Nick Chubb.
Chubb is one of the best running backs in the NFL. He had a career-high 1,525 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
Deshaun Watson finished the game going 8-for-12 with 65 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Wide receiver Amari Cooper had just three receptions with 34 reception yards.
The Browns will fly back home to take on the Tennessee Titans for a Week 3 matchup.
