3 player “Wish List” for the Cleveland Browns on Day 2 of NFL Draft

Day 1 of the NFL Draft didn’t exactly go as scripted. For the Cleveland Browns that has left the door wide open to select a few players they may have on their wish list. These players are certainly on my list.
As for last night, there were three quarterbacks taken in the first four picks. The Indianapolis Colts, a surprise to me and many others, took quarterback Anthony Richardson from Florida. The kid has limited experience and only has been making a name for himself since the NFL Combine. The fact is that this batch of quarterbacks is very limited outside of the top two Bryce Young of Alabama and CJ. Stroud of Ohio State.
Another oddity of last night’s selections was that there were two running backs taken in the first 12 picks. There hadn’t been a running back taken in the first round of any NFL Draft in recent memory. Bijan Robinson was taken by the Atlanta Falcons and Jahmyr Gibbs of Alabama was taken by the Detroit Lions. While Robinson might be a difference-maker in his future, Gibbs will likely be just an average back in the long run. Do you remember Trent Richardson, Browns fans?
In all, there were seven edge rushers, five offensive linemen, four defensive tackles and four cornerbacks taken last night. That leaves the Browns plenty of opportunities to select some outstanding talent tonight and on Saturday.
Here are three players that would be a great gift to the team if drafted.
